Kansas has wind supply consistent with large scale production. Major areas of good wind windpower are found all over much of western Kansas with scattered areas in the eastern part of the map. Significant areas of strong wind supply are positioned in southwestern Kansas and extend to north-central Kansas. Population centers located close to outstanding windpower areas include Dodge City, Garden City, and Great Bend. The best wind supply areas are typically positioned on elevated terrain features
